CHCP is a community built on high expectations for instruction, with a well-structured and adaptive curriculum to meet the social and emotional needs of scholars. Student voice, rigorous instruction, and collaboration with all stakeholders creates a safe, nurturing environment that fosters scholars’ civic and academic excellence. Collaboration amongst CHCP’s educators, parents and community groups supports learning for scholars to remain engaged, stay in school longer, and enjoy their school experience.

Mission
Cypress Hills Collegiate Preparatory High School’s mission is to further develop and strengthen our students’ academic and social-emotional skills needed to succeed in the ever-changing world we live in today by promoting intellectual curiosity, respect for diversity, accountability, commitment to collaboration and the confidence to pursue their dreams. Families, staff, students and community members will all be invested in supporting the steps to achieve the school’s vision. Through a rigorous, equitable and interculturally relevant curriculum, our students will develop into self-motivated, inquisitive, knowledgeable and empathetic individuals who will contribute to a peaceful, civic-minded world.
CHCP is proud to announce that we are an IB School! We are one of 67 schools in New York State that offer the IB Diploma Programme. The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
IB students embrace their own cultures and are open and responsive to other cultures and views. They are fully engaged, ever curious learners for life. At the heart of all our programs is the IB Learner Profile, a long-term, holistic vision of education that underpins the IB continuum of education and puts the students at the center of everything we do. The Learner Profile is the IB mission statement in action and provides a set of learning behaviors which aim to inspire, motivate and focus students, teachers, and the entire IB school community, uniting them in a common purpose.
